This June, I'm competing in the national Miss Arab USA 2026 pageant as a top finalist, with the chance to become the first Libyan titleholder in the pageant's history.
Born in Tripoli, Libya and raised in Japan and Southern California, I have spent my whole life and career telling stories that reflect the people who are usually left out of the frame. Asian and Arab women. Mixed-identity women. Immigrant women.
So when I applied to Miss Arab USA on a total whim and found out I made it into the top 20 finalists, I freaked out! And now I'm spending the next few weeks preparing for the pageant show.
During my pageant run, I'm fundraising $1,000 for the Arab American Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to redefining Arab women as global leaders, preserving Arab American history and culture, and providing essential resources including legal services and educational workshops to the community.
